ABOUT THE BAND

After spending 15 years as a drummer for several of Texas Country’s most accomplished singer-songwriters, Michael Kelton, armed with a slew of well-crafted, original songs, is making his move from the back of the stage up to the microphone at the front. Raised by a musical family in Austin, Texas, Kelton found life as a musician came naturally. His bass-playing father Noel is a founding member of Texas legends Johnny Dee & the Rocket 88’s, who Kelton found himself on stage with on more than one occasion.

Bb Dueling Pianos is our ‘iteration’ of the sing-along piano show. It is built around immersive interaction, comedy that can be family friendly or raunchy bar room humor, and an amazing sing-along show that can be anything from Metallica to Billy Joel! You request it, we play it! Our musicians are veterans who have played for years in the piano bar scene.

Jimmy Joe started playing guitar at the young age of 12. He attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston and graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood. He is schooled in many styles of music including classical, jazz, country, bluegrass, blues and rock-n-roll. He is known among friends and colleagues as a talented, sensitive player with just the right touch for any occasion. He has been writing songs for over 20 years including custom songs for friends and clients. He is a wordsmith to be sure and his rhymes will impress and surprise you. And the melodies he writes range from cutting edge to so beautiful they will make you cry!

ABOUT THE BAND

Soul Wagon carries on the soulful and swingin’ sounds of the enormous collection of roots music called Jazz and Blues. While specializing in classic 50’s and 60’s era jazz, the band also digs deep into simpler blues forms driven by groove, soul, and raw energy. Leading the band on piano and vocals, frontman Benito stays true to these enduring styles, respecting tradition while adding fresh arrangements and mixing in exciting original songs rooted firmly in the old-school sound the band is known for.

Parking?

Parking at Rhythm & Roots is free and available on a first come, first served basis. Since the event is held on a farmstead within the Village Farm Tiny Home Community, space is limited—plan to arrive early to secure a spot and enjoy the full evening experience.
